2024 Turkey Camp Dates April 19-21, 2024 Location Pisgah National Forest Camp Location: Black Bear Campground 6196 Lake James Road, Marion, North Carolina 28752 Virtual Pre-Event Informational and Meet & Greet Session will be held April 3rd at 7:30 Come join staff members Drew Blake, James Kiser, Michael Fussell, and Jonathon Wallace as they trek across the mountains and valley of the majestic Pisgah National Forest. Hunting will consist of long walks on established trails throughout Linville Gorge area. Early mornings will be common place and a day and a half of hunting is expected. Camp will be located at Black Bear Campground and will be primitive. Running water will be onsite with a common bathhouse centrally located in the campground. No electric service is provided to the campsite so please bring all the chargers, battery packs, and other electric charging devices that you need to get through a weekend.
Kerr Lake Striper & Catfish Weekend Dates: May 31st - June 2nd Location: Henderson Point Campground Address: 1427 Rev Henderson Rd, Henderson, NC 27537 Sign Ups Close: Midnight April 1, 2024 Four Open Positions for Applicants Only. Volunteers are not needed for this event. A minimum $35 donation will be required following selection to attend the event. Event Description: Brian Harris (blinded veteran) and Monaca Gilmore (Mentor Program Coordinator) joined Drew Blake and Cam Patrick for a weekend of fishing on Kerr Lake/Buggs Island Reservoir. Buggs Island consists of nearly 50,000 acres of surface water and 800 miles of shoreline. Join us as we target two of the lakes well known fisheries (Striped Bass and Catfish). Buggs Island is known to have two "schools" of stripers which is based on their original stocking locations. One school ranges from Clarksville to the Ivy Hill area and "migrates" up the Dan River. …

Dates: August 30 - September 1 Location: Camp Don Lee 315 Camp Don Lee Rd, Arapahoe, NC 28510 $100/person Donation Required to Attend The 2024 Trophy Drum Weekend will be limited to 10 fishermen/women and will feature 10 individual boats with a volunteer captain and mate. All lodging and food will be provided courtesy of Camp Don Lee. A donation of $100/person will be required to offset costs of the event. We will be targeting red drum in excess of 30 pounds with 40-50 pound fish common. Fishing will occur within the Neuse River downstream of New Bern all the way to the Pamlico Sound. All fishing activities will be conducted with state and federal regulations. Trophy Drum are Catch and Release Only; however, any other species caught may be kept in accordance with state and federal regulations. Caldwell County is in the northwest section of North Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is bounded on the northwest by Watauga County, on the northeast by Wilkes County, on the east by Alexander County, on the south by Catawba and Burke Counties and on the west by Burke and Avery Counties. It is located approximately 69 miles northwest of Charlotte, 84 miles southwest of Winston-Salem, and 90 miles northeast of Asheville and boasts breathtaking views from elevation ranges from 900 feet to 5,964 feet.
