Archery Deer Hunt
2022 Archery Deer Hunt The 2022 GEO Archery Deer Hunt occurred across several properties that are spread throughout Alamance, Person, and Orange counties in central North Carolina. Due to funding issues our event participants were heavily reduced to allow funds to be reallocated for the October rifle camp. Josh Tabor was flown in from Rutland, Vermont to try his luck at an early season whitetail buck. Josh hunted exclusively with Drew Blake over 3 days and shared time bonding with Drew and his family. Meals were prepared by Drew’s wife, Sarah, and consisted of venison pasta, breakfast quesadillas, and fried catfish with traditional southern sides. This was Josh’s first experience with catfish which he seemed to enjoy. Josh and Drew hunted in areas known to produce monster North Carolina whitetail bucks with trail camera photos leading up to the event proving just that. The pair hunted out of preset Barronett…
