Guests and members of The Disability Awareness Council enjoyed a relaxing fishing day with Guiding Eyes Outdoors and our partner organizations. The event was being presented in honor and recognition of the The Disability Awareness Council to allow their members a relaxing day in the outdoors. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) provided fishing supplies, fishery biologists, and tracked wheelchairs for the event. Guests experienced a fun filled morning with friendly volunteers and caught common species from largemouth bass, crappie, brim, and catfish. While guests caught these species they also learned important information about these different species from the experts at NCWRC. Interested guests also experienced 2 miles of hay rides and ATV rides on a intensively managed property.
Guests arrived at the pick up location by 8:00am for transportation to the event. Transportation was provided by Chapel Hill Transit.
