  • 2024 Turkey Camp

    2024 Turkey Camp Dates April 19-21, 2024 Location Pisgah National Forest Camp Location: Black Bear Campground 6196 Lake James Road, Marion, North Carolina 28752 Virtual Pre-Event Informational and Meet & Greet Session will be held April 3rd at 7:30 Come join staff members Drew Blake, James Kiser, Michael Fussell, and Jonathon Wallace as they trek across the mountains and valley of the majestic Pisgah National Forest.  Hunting will consist of long walks on established trails throughout Linville Gorge area.  Early mornings will be common place and a day and a half of hunting is expected.  Camp will be located at Black Bear Campground and will be primitive.  Running water will be onsite with a common bathhouse centrally located in the campground.  No electric service is provided to the campsite so please bring all the chargers, battery packs, and other electric charging devices that you need to get through a weekend.

  • Kerr Lake Striper and Catfish Weekend

    Kerr Lake Striper & Catfish Weekend Dates: May 31st - June 2nd Location: Henderson Point Campground Address: 1427 Rev Henderson Rd, Henderson, NC 27537 Sign Ups Close: Midnight April 1, 2024 Four Open Positions for Applicants Only.  Volunteers are not needed for this event. A minimum $35 donation will be required following selection to attend the event.  Event Description: Brian Harris (blinded veteran) and Monaca Gilmore (Mentor Program Coordinator) joined Drew Blake and Cam Patrick for a weekend of fishing on Kerr Lake/Buggs Island Reservoir.  Buggs Island consists of nearly 50,000 acres of surface water and 800 miles of shoreline.  Join us as we target two of the lakes well known fisheries (Striped Bass and Catfish).  Buggs Island is known to have two "schools" of stripers which is based on their original stocking locations.  One school ranges from Clarksville to the Ivy Hill area and "migrates" up the Dan River. …

We also wanted to extend a special thank you to our volunteer boat captains and our sponsors for helping to make this event happen.  Labor day traffic in no way set the tone for the incredible time we had on the water and this was an adventure to remember! Camp Don Lee was the perfect venue for our unique and diverse group of participants and volunteers. Our staff overcame the occasional boat issues and adapted to deliver an awesome event.     2024 Deer Camp Dates: October 18-20 Location: Caldwell County, NC The 2024 GEO Deer Camp was hosted by MAG Feeders and Double G Ranch in Caldwell County, North Carolina and was our first ever archery hunt.  Caldwell County is in the northwest section of North Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is bounded on the northwest by Watauga County, on the northeast by Wilkes County, on the east by Alexander County, on the south by Catawba and Burke Counties and on the west by Burke and Avery Counties. It is located approximately 69 miles northwest of Charlotte, 84 miles southwest of Winston-Salem, and 90 miles northeast of Asheville and boasts breathtaking views from elevation ranges from 900 feet to 5,964 feet.     Leland Little Sporting Art Fair A Celebration of Community, Art, History, and the Sporting Lifestyle Leland Little is delighted to host our fourth annual Sporting Art Fair on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 from 9:00am - 2:00pm. Although hosted on the grounds and within the galleries of Leland Little, this is a community event brought forth by a group of partners who are personally and professionally invested in the world of sporting art. The Sporting Art Fair is for everyone. Expect a day full of exhibitions, in-person demonstrations, great food, activities for all ages, and above all, a whole lot of fun.   • 2025 June Striper and Catfish Weekend

    June 20-22, 2025 Kerr Lake State Recreation Area Henderson Point Campground - Area 1 Tent Site: 025 Arrival Date: Fri Jun 20 2025 Check-in Time: 3:00 PM Departure Date: Sun Jun 22 2025 Check-out Time: 12:00 PM June 20-22, 2025, Drew Blake spent the weekend with Monaca Gilmore, Anthony Torres, and Maurice Adams at Buggs Island Reservoir. Striped bass were targeted with live bait and deep water trolling techniques depending on conditions at the time. Live baiting will consisted of 6-8 rods rigged with modified Carolina Rigs topped off with herring fishing in depths from 10-40 feet deep. Live baiting utilized planer boards from AlphaBoardz. Deep Water Trolling consisted of 4 rods fished off of Cannon downriggers and 2 leadcore rods fishing at depths from 25-60 feet deep. While trolling a variety of lure combinations were used with the most common one being Alabama rigs topped with bucktails and Striper…

  • 2025 Mountain Trout Trip

    2025 Mountain Trout Trip Event Description: Come join us for a weekend of relaxation and tranquility while trout fishing on stocked streams and ponds in beautiful Cherokee, North Carolina. This event will be held in partnership with Veterans Creed - Team North Carolina.  The event will be hosted by the Cherokee/Great Smokies KOA Campground.  Attendees can anticipate good camaraderie, relaxation, and fun times.  Accommodations will consist of overnight camping in our 10×12 Canvas Wall Tent from The Wall Tent Shop and a Davis Canvas Tent.  

  • Hunters Night Out

    GEO was accepted to be a vendors for Hunter's Night Out hosted by Carolina Sportsman Outfitters.  The event was held August 2nd, 2025 at Carolina Bait & Tackle at 7630 NC-39, Henderson, NC 27537.  Raffle prizes include a custom Guiding Eyes Outdoors cushion from Pur-Pro, a Calcutta Outdoors 20LT Renegade Cooler full of goodies, and a Kunnan Blackwater medium action spinning combo.  Ticket prices were $5/ticket, 5 for $20 and 10 for $40.  Our drawing was on August 3rd, 2025 through our Facebook Page.
